Last night’s rain plays
Gray cumulus everywhere
A blender craze of sun ‘n haze
Breathe in deeply, my…fresh air!

Brighton-ing the early din
Just from the wet of night
Three walkers they be talkers
Lead leapin’ labs,  prancin’ sprites!

Steadily blue juice pours out
Into ocean calm
‘Bout three knots is all she’s got
Down the spit leans one lone palm

Spring’s sprung, tried and true
Black figures trapse, fog’s come back
A grebe or two, dive ‘n coo
In Mother Nature’s slack backpack

Right here today
On the bo bay

“When the frost is on the pumpkin”
A phrase for fall not spring
Only one season, so out of reason
Biting on my ear it stings

Double-engined roaring by
Out to pick up pots
Crabs they crawl,  in traps then brawl
Pincher-defense is all they got

Raging heat through the cool
Bouncing off the blue
Solar blast today will last
Sending cool back to school!

In my right ear, ocean waves
In my left, jet engine whine
Down Wharf Road folks unload
One says “that’s not yours, it’s mine”

First gulls of the day begin
Stinson side, by water’s edge
Squawk ‘n walk ‘n talk ‘n grin

Gulls cacklin’ loud and clear
Act like birds with pocket money
Laughing as if they drank beer!

Ooh, the soft-raged liquid runs
Eddy currents swirl away
Feeling-sounds and thoughts and puns
Breathe life into this springtime day

Those feet-first landings
On BoStin channel wide
Gray ceiling,  cormorants reeling
Ride incoming tide

Puffy gulls sittin’ near
On Wharf seawall grand
Stare at me,  food probably
They’ll get from my hand

Not unlike their babes,   for real
Who tap on the red dot
Small seal, called a gonydeal
On yellow beak…a soup hot spot!

Wanderin’ early,  walkers roam
Fog lifts beyond the crunch
Quick waves fall,  four in all
Helps make little critter’s lunch

Yep,  you guessed,  both gulls still there
Starin’ back at me
‘Neath cool skies,  they tell no lies
There’s always eats by the sea
