Bo Bay Today
Sun beams broken
by the moving shadow
of a gull walking by,
blocking the sky
Overhead baffled
engines whine
out of the blind
descending airline
Flash-bulb bright
Post-rain sight
Fresh little ditty
Witty by the city
Channel rush
twists about
through the breakers
tides go out
Twice a day
Pull moon swoon
Sit on Wharf bench
Croon your own tune

Bo Bay Today
It’s not just the morning cool
warming up
It’s not just two birders
catching photos
of the sunrise
It’s not the screeching
gull
next to my head
Rather it is knowing
that just as the rainbow
appeared out of the mist
It is possible
newly nesting
bald eagles
May soar
right up the middle
of
right here today
on the bo bay
